South Australia and Queensland have already implemented the scheme, with Victoria to introduce similar laws fairly quickly if the bill is passed through the upper house.
Last year, the Australian government announced that there would be changes to the skilled visa programs as of 2018. In line with the announcement in April 2017, the 457 visa scheme has officially ended and has been replaced by the TSS visa (known as the 482 Temporary Skills Shortage Visa), after an 11 month transition process.
Tuesday night, the Federal Government announced changes to their fees when engaging a foreign worker on a Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (formally known as the 457 Visa). The most significant and positive impact this has on businesses sponsoring foreign workers, is the end of training benchmarks.
